Reading Stars Phonics Phase 5 Top Up Pack is for schools who purchased Phase 5 packs before the final 54 Phase 5 titles were published. This pack contains one copy of each of the 54 new titles.

It contains both fiction and non-fiction titles, on a range of topics and text types. These books correspond to Phase 5 of Letters and Sounds, the UK Government's synthetic phonics programme, but can be used for phonics reading practice to support any phonics programme. The words are all decodable which means they are made up of phonics that children can put together to decode the word.

These books in Phase 5 introduce new phonemes, digraphs and consonont digraphs, together with more high frequency words. Each book introduces the new letters and sounds in an order that corresponds to Letters and Sounds. These books do not contain any words with letters or sounds that pupils will not have met at this stage of their phonics programme.
