Synthetic Phonics and Reading Schemes

Key Stages

In the UK, the school system is split into five stages: Early Years (or Reception); Key Stage 1, encompassing school Years 1 and 2; Key Stage 2, from Years 3 to 6; Key Stage 3, from Years 7 to 9; and Key Stage 4, school Years 10 to 11.

Ransom offers structured reading schemes at each of these five stages.

Interest Ages

Interest ages refer to a child’s actual age; therefore the age that you need to cater the themes of the content for. This is separate from reading age, which determines the level at which a child can read.
