Author Profile - Peter Lancett

Peter Lancett is a writer and film maker, with six published novels to his credit. These include three written for the Cutting Edge series, published by Ransom, for which he was also the commissioning and series editor. Peter is the creator and author of the thirty illustrated books in the award-winning Dark Man series, also published by Ransom.

Born in Staffordshire in the English midlands, Peter is also a citizen of New Zealand, taking up citizenship during his first spell of living in Auckland. Peter has led a nomadic life, living at various times in London, the Home Counties and New Zealand. He travels often to the United States, where he considers southern California to be a second home.

Currently, Peter works mostly in film and television development, doing the unsung work of project development for production companies in Los Angeles. His credits as writer include the television pilot Elwood, starring Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy, Hellboy), Persephone, starring Lanie Kazan (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Roadhouse starring Louis Mandylor (Picket Fences, China Beach, My Big Fat Greek Wedding). Peter is also writer and director of a feature film, The Xlitherman, and a pilot film shot for development purposes, Upside Down.

Peter currently lives in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire.
